Hershey Bears clinch second-straight Atlantic Division title

The Chocolate and White hosted the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins on Friday night inside Giants center and their penultimate home game of the regular season, and in the process, the Bears clinched their 2nd straight Atlantic Division title. Here's *** look at how the game unfolded. Hershey leads the season series with *** 6-31-1 record, including last Friday night's road win in Wilkes-Barre. No score midway through the first period. Jake Massey dumps it off to Ivan Mirosnachenko, and he puts it in the back of the net. His 21st goal of the season made it 1-0 bears. Later in the period, the Penguins trying to get one back. Zach Gallop shoots from *** sharp angle. Hunter Shepherd is unable to make the save, tie game at 1, and that was the score after the 1st 20 minutes. Less than 6 minutes into the second period, bears on the attack. Alex Lemos with *** perfect pass to Hendrix Lapierre, who lights the lamp from the left circle. Hershey back in front 2 to 1. Some payoffs around the net in the third period. The puck is loose. It ends up on the stick of Bogdan Triev, who fires one past Penguins' goaltender Joel Blomquist. That put the chocolate and white up 3-1. They would go on to win 4-2 to clinch the Atlantic Division. Title for the 2nd straight year. Yeah, it's good to finish off, uh, in 1st place. Obviously we're thrilled about that, but now the real season starts, right? So, uh, it's time to get the work boots back on and, and we're gonna, we're gonna take it to them in the playoffs. I'm proud of the guys in there. You know what's it wasn't easy. It wasn't like last year we kind of breezed in and into the playoffs, um, that's all right, you know what we had to work for everything we got. Um, you know, I'm proud of the guys because, uh, you walk around town and people are saying. What's wrong with the Bears? Well, we're in 1st place, you know, and, uh, 2nd or 3rd overall, it's *** pretty good year. The Hershey Bears returned to Giants center on Saturday night as they host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in their final home game of the season. Then they have *** 1st round by in the playoffs and will await who their first opponent will be.
